Our family absolutely loves this book! I remember reading this story as a child and to now share it with my children is simply amazing. When a very old man sets out to find a cat for his very old wife, he soon discovers choosing the prettiest cat out of “hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats” can be a very difficult decision indeed. Not able to make up his mind, he brings all the cats home with him to his wife’s great despair. When his very old wife insists they only keep one, a quarrel erupts amongst the cats and then the cats disappear except one thin and scraggly kitten. Could this little bit of fur be the cat they wanted? Read this charming story and you will find out! (PB, 29 pages, black & white illustrations, All ages)
